CAPAROL's Capadur Gray Wood water-based varnish is designed for exterior surfaces. The carefully selected gray colors of Capadur Gray Wood give the impression of natural aging of the wood, which is achieved only after many years and under certain conditions.
It can be used for fences, balustrades on balconies, shutters, doors and other unstable wooden elements or for those with limited stability, as well as for very stable wooden building elements, such as windows or exterior doors.
Capadur GreyWood contains active biocidal substances. This is a protective film against fungi and algae. This film of preservatives slows down infection.
- It is not intended for wood that is in long-term contact with soil or water!
Capadur works at a minimum temperature of + 8°C of the substrate, material and air. Prior to application, the substrates must be clean, load-bearing and free of separators. The moisture content of the wood should not exceed 13% for stable wooden building elements and 15% for unstable wooden building elements or with limited stability. The new wooden surfaces are sanded in the direction of the fiber and cleaned well. Foreign bodies are removed from the wood, such as resin. At the outer surfaces the wood is impregnated.Old wooden surfaces are sanded and cleaned until they reach a load-bearing wooden surface, unpainted. Contamination with fungi and algae is washed well and the surface is disinfected and impregnated.
The coating is characterized by pearl luster, exceptional resistance to UV rays due to reflective pigments, it is dilutable in water and a density of 1.0 g/cc.Capadur Gray Wood is ready to apply.Stir well before use, and when applied with a brush, use acrylic paint brushes with mixed natural and polyester hair. When applying with a teddy bear, use polyamide teddy bears with short hair, and the material is then treated with a brush.
The cost is about 70-100 ml/sq.m.per layer. The nature of the wooden surface also affects the cost. The exact cost is determined by sampling. At a temperature of 20°C and 65% relative humidity dries on the surface after 1.5 hours. When applying the next layers, an interval of at least 4 hours is observed. At low temperatures and high humidity, or in poor air circulation, e. g. tight storage of building elements, the time is extended.
